Day 6 – The Caravan arrives in Louisville!

We all got up early to meet our suggest 9:30-ish departure. We left in 3 groups. Five of us met up in a rest Area in Kentucky west of Lexington and caravanned on to our last stop for gas before Louisville. There the last two couples met us and the 7 Musketeers were ready for the charge into Louisville. We had a mini adventure going to the wrong gate, but quickly found our way to the back of the line to Lot R. We got parked in a dusty gravelly lot with our electric hookup. Most of us sat outside even though it was rather warm and humid. We quickly discovered we could easily hear planes, trains and automobiles! We are about ½ mile from the end of Runway 17R.  Remember the old roaring DC-10's. They all live here working for UPS at their Interantonal hub. Also  we have lots of B-767's, B-747's, C-130's (USAF) and the other commercial stuff.
